What is a non-Internet operation mode?

The standard Heart Wizard™ software installed on user's computer is linked to the Welltrack™ Online Services server. The server provides storage for test data and authenticates users logging in to the system. Therefore a high-speed Internet connection is required on the user's side.
The following chart shows a schematic data flow in the Heart Wizard™.

However, sometimes Internet connection is temporarily unavailable due to technical problems or the Heart Wizard™ has to be used in locations where Internet connection is not available.

Now we can offer an effective and simple solution to solve this problem. Any of the Heart Wizard™ packages can be upgraded to an advanced version which allows for using the software in the non-Internet operation mode.

Click to see a larger picture of how to choose the non-Internet operation mode The user can choose the non-Internet operation mode when logging in. The same login name and password must be used in both Internet and non-Internet operation modes.

The software functionality in both modes is almost identical. The only difference is that test data previously recorded in the Internet operation mode will not be accessible in the non-Internet mode. All new test data recorded in the non-Internet mode will be stored locally on the PC.

At any time the user may start in the Internet operation mode if Internet connection is available. All new test data recorded in the non-Internet mode and stored locally will be automatically uploaded to the Welltrack™ Online Services server using a special synchronization process. The synchronization works one way – no test data is transferred from the remote server to the local PC. The number of tests that can be stored in the non-Internet operation mode is limited only by disk capacity of the user's computer. On average one test takes approximately 5 Kb of the disk space.

Note: Steps 1 and 2 can be separated in time.

The non-Internet operation mode can be useful in many situations. Individuals may use the Heart Wizard™ not only at home but on the go where no Internet connection is available. Professionals may take the Heart Wizard™ to remote locations to serve their clients on spot.
